Since Westvleteren beers were voted the best in the world in their category, they have become difficult to obtain. The monks remain true to their principles and refuse to increase output beyond what they need to maintain the monastery and fund good works.With limited supplies and increased demand the price goes up. The 12 is a rich, creamy brew, full of raisins, caramel and malt. Its colour is deep mahogany and its taste lingers a long time.
